In the Midst Of The Shadows

I got inspired to write Book 2 of the Women Of Strength Series, Shadows Of The Past due to having travelled to Madrid, Spain a number of years ago.

I experienced the visual aesthetics of the Prado Museum, the fresh lavender and lily scents of the Botanical Gardens, the defined architecture of a multitude of monuments, and the rich smells of fresh Paella or tasty empanadas while eating out.

I felt the heat blasted as I wandered the streets. The music still fresh in my mind as I listened to the tunes of castanets during a flamenco show.

I had one experience when I was staying at a grand hotel in Madrid where an older man had asked me if he could show me the sights. I flinched, wondering why an older man wanted to be around a much younger woman. I hesitated and stated that I was good and could find my own way around.

It was a number of years later when I thought, what if this man was a stalker and had a grudge against women? What if I had accepted his offer and consequently became obsessed to the point he wouldn’t leave me a moment’s peace? What if this man had a secret agenda for wanting to show me around Madrid?

Hence, was born Shadows Of the Past; a story about a young dance school teacher who finds romance and love, but also a stalker who plays mind games and becomes deadly. She wonders if her stalker has a connection to her past, and discovers family secrets.
